Emergency lighting standards have recently undergone a process of
European upgrading, and although a final draft has yet to be ratified
and approved by the EEC, most fire officers and building control
inspectors are recommending the new requirements.
The provisions of a Public Entertainment License require that
premises must have maintained - permanently on - fire exit signs at all
times during business hours.
As a consequence, emergency lighting is often left on, even outside
of business hours, with the result that the small TS 8 watt lamps do not
last very long, causing ongoing additional expense to the business as
the lamps are continually having to be replaced.
We can now advise upon the installation of new LED exit signs.
These have an LED display and battery life of ten years, avoiding costly
and disruptive routine maintenance.
